by the way. I am very new to biking. I have always been into going on the odd ride..... but now that im living in a city it just makes sense to me to start riding on a regular basis. For health and to save $ and time. Also my brother is huge into riding...... he thinks the above bike that I posted is a good starter for me, and also said that I should offer a bit less.

It looks like a pretty nice classic Italian road bike. A pretty good bike for the price -- with the Campy components. Assuming it's the right size.

Thanx a lot bikepro. My bro has me at about 56cm. I have about an inch on him... I think he rides a 54cm. I'm just hoping that my height is in my legs (which i think it is). One more thing. I know its probably hard to say .... but do people generally price say $50 over what they expect? I know some people get quite attached to things and can get boarder line insulted by offering less. Maybe a stupid question but I am kinda new to bike culture. I just remember offering less for a vintage guitar amp and the guy was pretty put off by it. :-)
cheers

I've never bought/sold bikes on craigslist before, but I've sold plenty of other things (musical instruments, photography equiment, etc), and people *always* try to bid lower.
It never hurts to try. Offer less, and if he refuses, and you're willing to pay 450, go for it. If he gets pissed off, he obviously pretty new to craigslist.

Nice frame - with a great pedigree - Campagnolo dropouts, Columbus-tubes & Cinelli bottom-bracket. As stated before - if she fits, take her away!

If that bike was my size it would be mine! I have seen it up there for some time - at least three weeks. He may be losing hope and accept your lower offer. Give it a shot, at least. I would initially bid $350 so you can meet in the middle at about $400.
