Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am casual cyclist (I should be more dedicated), but I have a love and appreciation of bicycles. I am also a born tinkerer. I have 2 old road bikes...an '86 Panasonic....DX300 and an '86 (I think) Fuji Ace..
Both bikes fit me well and both are (can be) in tip top shape. Is one particularly more valuable than the other?? They both ride like dreams; but I am running out of room.........

thanks......
Do the wheels match on the Panasonic? Or is it just the tires. They look like two different wheels.
I like the look of the Panasonic better, other than the wheels. On the other hand, the Fuji has triple butted tubes, versus double on the Panasonic.
Bikes are pretty close, but I consider Panasonic a more desirable brand. But the Panasonic looks like it has a few mixed up components (like the modern 105 RD).
Panasonic is also a Japanese bike, while the Fuji is Taiwan. So I would favor the Panasonic personally. I think Japanese bikes from the 80s will start moving up in value as people start valuing them more. Of course, I have a workshop full of 1980s Japanese bikes, so I am probably a little biased in this matter.

I put the 105 brakes on it as well as the wheels from a Specialized Allez.......I have the original brakes but the wheels were not original to begin with........thanks for the input.......

I'd also pick the Panasonic, if I had to choose...but you can always make room for more bikes!
