Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Several years ago a friend showed me how to make a simple, tiny(about the size of a half dollar) replica model of a road bike by bending a piece of jewelry wire( something like 18 or 20 gauge). I can no longer remember how to do this and would like to find a set of instructions again. Can anyone help, or even know what I'm talking about?

I think your friend came up with the design himself, you'll have to reinvent it.
It's not exactly the same as that paper airplane everyone knows how to make...

Seems like something you could design as you went. Start with cheap hardware store wire and just bend it until it looks like you want it to.
Failing that, www.instructables.com has all kinds of stuff like that. Might be something there.
I did a couple dozens of those while learning orthodonics in Dental School, back on my late teens. The first one or two will look ugly but you will get the feeling and become better after the third or so...
