Long Distance Competition/Ultracycling, Randonneuring and Endurance Cycling - Campy Gearing help

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I've got Campy Veloce triple crank with a 52/42/30 9sp now. I'd like to upgrade to 10 sp but want something like a 48/38/28. Has anyone used this on a Campy 10 sp setup? Sugino makes one, the XD600. I don't know if it works well with a 10 sp chain. I want to stick with Campy because I've got a lot invested in wheels and spare parts. Any help would be appreciated.
You can just buy new chainrings instead of a new crankset. Stronglight and TA make excellent chainrings for less than what campy charges.
A 48 39 28 will work, but you can't get 38 with a campy 135mm BCD.

At TA prices, it would cost WAY less to buy the Sugino crankset.

the TA should work fine. but you have to match the BCD on your existing.
i'm running a TA double that is technically 9spd. working fine.

I use a 55-42-28 set up on my Record triple. 28 is a Stronglite and works fine with a Record 10 speed chain. The chain seems to drag on the FD cage [lower rear portion] on anything less than 19 teeth. The FD could be lowered a bit if I used a 53t front chain ring.
Has anyone actually used a Sugino with Campy? I was more concerned about shifting in the front. I've got 9sp Campy barcon shifters now. So, it's basically friction in the front.

If you are using a friction shifter in front your cranks probably won't matter as long as the front derailleur works with the chain ring sizes you are using. I have a Mirage triple that works perfectly with 46-36-24 rings. Also, the Sugino XD600 is supposedly for 8-speed but XD cranksets work fine with 9-speed systems.

Why not just get the Campag Comp Triple 30-40-50? Hook that up w/ Centaur or Veloce 10-sp.
All discussed here (http://www.veloweb.ca/randopages/randoratios.html).

Randochap, that's a great link and very informative. Does Campy sell that crank new? Trying to buy just the 40 & 50 chainrings costs more than a crank.

The crank on my Sportivo (http://www.veloweb.ca/mybikepages/sportivo.html) is new, old stock Campag Record Triple. I was glad to be able to find one (it helped being in the trade) as they were discontinued, along w/ the other individual triples, a couple years ago.
You might be able to scope one of those. But the Comp is what they now offer for triple enthusiasts and is of similar quality.
The Comp gruppo (http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/groupsetdetail/item_guarCOMPTRIPLE_catid_8.jsp) consists of the crankset, F derailleur and BB.
