Anyone know whether construction has been finished on the stretch of Hudson Terrace/Main Street/River Road in Fort Lee between the GWB and the entrance to Palisades Park (Henry Hudson Drive)?
The segment between the bridge and the park was pretty hairy last summer; there was a narrow detour up a short steep hill and then down an even steeper one with angry drivers everywhere. What's the status of that area now?
Many thanks for the update.

Related question - is there still any construction work on the GWB itself? Specifically, is the south path open?
May affect my plans for BNY5B
I was just there this weekend, and didn't notice any construction. There's also a bike path now, from the park entrance to Annett Ave.
The South path is open. I heard from someone else in the area that it closes at midnight.

The south path of the GWB has been open, and the new bike path, while still officially closed is very rideable, and very nice. Just remember to slow down at the bottom before entering the park and watch out for traffic coming from your left.
the new bike path, while still officially closed
There were no barriers this weekend--maybe it's officially open now?

Thanks. I'm thinking about parking in Fort Lee and joining the BNY5B at the south end of Central Park, so I'd be crossing the GW between 7:30 and 8 am.

Is there a good way from the NJ side of the GW to Riverdale in the Bronx? I see a bikepath along the Henry Hudson parkway, is that connected to the bridge? Related question- anyone ever ride in the cities across the river from NYC? I'm looking for a route from Morris County NJ to Riverdale, and I don't wanna get mugged as I get close to the river.

The walkway on the Henry Hudson bridge is currently closed, You can take the bike path to the end. Go down to Dykeman St. Take that east, make a left on Seaman. Make a right on 216th to Broadway, left to 230th. Another Left on 230th to Riverdale Ave. The traffic on the short stretch on Broadway can be a little gnarly. You might get hit by a livery car, but I doubt you'll get mugged.

I live in Riverdale. And i just rode this route today.
Most direct route: After the bridge, stay straight on 178th street to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway. Ride until 230th street. Make left on 230th. Ride until "the hill" that is either Irwin Ave to the left, or Riverdale Avenue to the right, depending on where in Riverdale you are going.
It's pretty safe in terms of muggers, but watch out for the livery cabs, especially near the 2 car washes between 207 and 225.

Same here. And i rode it Friday. There is still construction equipment, but the path was open.

Posted times are 6am-Midnight
Where is this?
Right where you'd expect a sidewalk to be, starting at the park entrance and continuing down to Annett.

LOVE the new sidewalk down to Annett/Henry Hudson Dr. Now if only the road down the rest of the hill (to Edgewater) weren't such a POS...

The route I like goes up Cabrini, through Ft Tryon park, past the Cloisters. That part is very scenic, not so many livery cabs. Couple hundred yards on the shoulder of the Parkway: not as hairy as it might sound... but be careful if you do it. After that, it's the same as Dendawg posted.
