Northern California - Who knew that cycling would help you run fast?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, maybe Lance. While I am resting my knee until I can cycle again without pain, I did a run last night. It's ironic that I quit running because it hurt my knee and now I'm running again because cycling hurts my knee.

The last time I ran, it took me about 42 minutes to do 5 miles on a track (about 8:24 pace). Yesterday I did it in 38:30 (about 7:40 pace). I guess it's from the general increase in fitness I've gained from more cycling!

Going in for my fitting on Sunday and hope to get into PT next week so that I can ride again before too long!

Great, Justin. Why don't you do this with me tomorrow?

I also had the same result, for the same reasons. vO2 increase is great. The only bad part was that when I quit feeling the pain I eased up on the foam roller-ing and eventually started to feel pain during runs.

Now I know that no matter what, I must keep that relationship between the foam roller and me strong.

Sounds fun, but I am staying off the bike for a while to try to heal my knee!

Crazy, eh? I don't have a diagnosis yet and am trying to figure out what is wrong!
