Road Cycling - this looks painful at best

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Not exactly what I has in mind. I was thinking more about the seat height relative to the bars.

Aha. You have a point. The saddle position is throwing me off, too, I must admit (as in it's so far FORWARD).

Thats how I set up my bikes. Short legs, long torso and arms. I have (I think) 25 degree stems, both flipped for zero rise. Looks funny but fits me well. My seats not that far forward though. And whats with the hate on for al frames?

aluminum frames typically have a much rougher ride than steel/carbon/Ti. Thats why alot of people don't like aluminum.
But with some nice carbon stays and a carbon fork aluminum will give you an ok ride. i still like the reynolds 853 steel road bike I tested over the aluminum/carbon stays/carbon fork.

I'm only mad at aluminum because of my broken frame.

That sucks. I have a steel and an al bike. Love them both but mainly ride the steel. It's a s/s soon to be fixed. But I still love the c-dale, neither are road bike so here ends any (useful) contributions to this forum.

i was thinking about the paint... yech.
I do some photo work and some of the sites, serotta and rags, recomend that you raise the seat height on a bike when you take the shot to make it look "Fast" Never agreed with that logic, but that is what they do.
Agree on the AL, rode a few and did not like them. Did the Al fork as it was stock on my Serotta. Upgraded to a carbon fiber fork and I will never do AL again. I will stick to Titanium or steel. JMHO
