I just bought two trikes of the local CL for $100. That's $100 for BOTH!! :thumb:

Well I think it was a good deal anyhow. So now I have two "new to me" bikes, or should I say trikes, to research and overhaul. The first is a smaller Murray (24" wheels? Haven't measured yet) with the moniker "Senior Ride" on the chainguard (or soemthing like that, the xact name escapes me). It's kind of bronzey-brown and appears to have a 3-speed internal hub, but the shifter denotes High, Nuetral, and Low(?!!). It's dark now, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to go over them in any great detail- like if it's a Sturmey or a Shimano hub for example. I know Murray was/is kind of low end, but I'd really like to know something more about it if possible.
The other rasberry purple bike was listed incorrectly as a Johanu, but actually appears to be a Sun "Joannau" or something like that. It is a two chained single speed, which is kind of a shame really. It's in better shape than the Murray and is lighter. A couple of speeds on this thing and it might not be a total brick to ride/pedal (each bike is fairly heavy). Anyway, the Joannau is a "Deluxe", not that it particularly means anything to me since I know nothing of the brand or the history of this model. It does have a rather conspicuous and easily read searial number at the top of the seat tube. Maybe someone knows for serial decoder for vintage Sun trikes? Any info at all will be greatly appreciated.
Now to go over them and get them back up to riding shape. The tires are rotted, the inner tubes are most likely original and therefore are past their prime. Aside from that and a good cleaning/greasing/rust removal, both appear to be in decent shape. I had to drive 45 minutes each way (out to rural Indiana), but for the price and the condition, I'm happy. These will be going to the wife's Grandmother and my Grandmother once they are finished. The hope is they'll ellicit an urge to exercise and get out a bit more.
