Nothing special about my usual ride up San Bruno Mountain this morning, other than I finally decided to haul my camera with me. I started my ride at about 6am with my lights and watched the sun come up as I climbed.

It's just the best way to start the day, so I thought I’d share:

The sun peaks over the hills as I ride to the top of Guadalupe Canyon.

Fingers of fog trickle over the ridgeline

From the top of Radio Road, looking down over Daly City, with some lingering fog waiting for the sun.

And the view north to SF

The sun rises up over the East Bay Hills

Mt Diablo sticks up out of the cloud

Very cool Richard! I know it's a silly little Mountain, but I like it! Nice picts!

Well if it's just you and I tomorrow, then it's another option!

Ah yes, you were just hosting Paula's first ride up the hill IIRC, that was a very hot day.

In some ways you're quite right, Pete - it's a silly little hill (not really a mountain), but I've come to really like it. It's very convenient for me during the week - either to start the day like today, or a lunchtime. But it has a bit of everything - sweeping views, not too much traffic, and enough of a grade to make it worthwhile.

Beautiful shots. I've always wanted to ride up a mountain as the sun rose, but I'm not nearly enough of a morning person to pull it off.

Remember this?Remember drafting me at ~50MPH on the way down? :D

(Hint, I wasn't on a bike that day. ;))

Nice pictures. Brings back memories of my high school days. Our high school club use to go up there all the time. Probably about 20 years since the last time I've gone up.

nice photos, I wonder what the wind was like up there on Tuesday? This is also the route I do the most, since I live so close. But I've been off the bike for seven weeks, no excuses just lazy:o.

Looks like we might be getting an unorthodox Friday afternoon/evening ride up there on the 24th (I'll turn my attention to that once the Primavera's out the way this weekend) - why not break the 7wk absence?
