I came to Austin Friday afternoon to catch the bus to Houston for the
MS150. The MS150 day one was cancelled (in case you hadn't heard
 ) so I stayed at my friend's house who had also been planning
on doing the ride. Today we rode around the west side of town (I think)
and our route included what I was told are two of the better climbs in
the area, Redbud and Mt Bonnell.

When I asked, my friend didn't know: what are the distance, average grade,
and maximum grade of those two climbs?

Don't know the distance or grade info...they're good climbs but pretty short. I assume you're talking about Red Bud from the river crossing and Mt. Bonnell from the 2222 side? I know I nearly puked the first time I rode up Red Bud...but it was almost 100 degrees that day. I've done better since.

Sounds like you had a good look at some of the riding in Austin. I've come to enjoy some of the "in town" riding lately, especially on windy days, as opposed to the open highway riding that really lets you cover some distance.
