Hi all and welcome back to cycling season (it's been a miserable and long winter).

Looking for advice on Tricross (or really any cx) tires. I've been riding my '07 Tricross Comp the last few seasons on a hard packed fine gravel trail over long distances. Every season I get one or 2 flats on one or the other of my 700x32 Specialized Borough CX tires (standard equipment). I don't think I'm over or under inflating, at around 80psi for a recommended range of 50-100psi.

I've been reading other posts on the subject here that riders have ditched their Borough CX in favor of a very tough, lightweight, and almost puncture-proof tire, Specialized Armadillo Elite. It looked promising, but then was disappointed that it only comes as 700x23. Although fine for the road, the fine gravel trail needs good traction and a bit more cushion beef to absorb the ruts, and the 23 is just too narrow I think.

Anyone have a similar situation, and if the Armadillo was the solution, or another maybe wider tire?

If you go to specialized's website, you'll see that there is a whole range of Armadillo tires from 23mm to 38mm.

Thanks. Should have done that first. Found the CX Armadillo Elite Tire 700x32 there. Any experiences with Continental Twister Pro 700x32, anyone?

I'm not a big fan of the armadillos. Mostly because they ride like crap. I have the 23's and they seem really heavy and feel like wood. I had much better experience with the conti gatorskin.

I ride Panracer Pasela TG 28 foldable. I has kevlar belt (only under tread), and is light, so gives nice ride and handling.
