Firstly let me say I'm 54 years old, 5 foot 9 inches and weigh 267 this morning.

I was out yesterday doing laps of a local park. It's 1.5 miles for each lap. My wife and I rode to the park from home and she locks up to run on the track. I'm starting my first lap and as I pass an older gentleman on a road bike. I say, " on your left" and " good morning" and continue on my way. 5 laps of the park later I pass him again. I'm about to say " on your left" when he says to me, " I can't believe your faster than me. " As I was laughing I said to him" I'm just having a good day today."

This man looked to be in his seventies. It's great to ride a bike. We all feel like kids again.

Hey there BobA, my brother from a different mother. I am 51, 5'10' (before a haircut) and 255.

You summed it up perfectly. Because of my extremely low competitive nature, the primary feeling that I get when I hop on my bike, and especially after about 4 miles (and joints and muscles get warmed up), is that I am 10 year old, and I just want to ride till dark, and then I want to keep riding:-)

Isn't that great about bikes. I can be having a really bad day and then go out for an hour on the bike and the world seems to be a better place at least for a while. I've been riding regularly since 1992 and really love it.
