Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Just wanted to say thanks

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here. I have had a lull in riding over the last year and a half and being on this site. After reading through a lot of the posts on here I have finally gotten off my butt and back on the bike. Hopefully I can maintain the momentum.

Yes, this forum has been immensely helpful, both in technical advice, but also for calibrating my sense of what is possible.
Keep riding! I would say "your welcome" but I doubt that any of my rookie posts helped you a whole lot. This is a good place to get inspiration. I check in almost every day for info and encouragement. And smiling pictures of Beanz racing down some mountain in California....
There is usually a lull in the winter, but it will pick up now.
Find some local group rides. Go on one and when you leave say "See ya next week." Then you are honor bound to show up and ride again. Oh yea, I have no problem with that momentum stuff, when I am going down hill. Hang in there man.

Group rides would help. That's what kept me motivated when I started riding. However, I now live in the middle of nowhere and haven't had any luck finding people in the area. Hopefully my wife will ride with me more this summer.

I'm in the same boat, out in the middle of nowhere but occasionally I get to ride with my wife and children. And thanks to you too for posting this because I've been away for the winter lull and gained back the 15lbs I lost. But now I've got the bike fever again, so keep posting on your progress because by doing so you--and the others here--help motivate me to get off the couch and ride.
