I looked at a Mongoose Tyax this week at Performance Bicycle. I was surprisingly impressed with it. I used to have a cheap Walmart Mongoose years ago. It was junk and I hated it, but this one seemed much better. It had hydraulic discs and a remote lockout on the front suspension. I think it had SRAM X5 rear and Shimano Deore front. The bike was $550. I've not seen these features in this price range. Is this bike worth it, or is it a piece of crap like the old Mongoose I had?

This one?

Seems kinda pricey for the spec you get. I paid around the same for a K2 Zed 3.0 w/ full Deore drivetrain for the same price.
