General Cycling Discussion - My LBS is making me hellaciously Happy!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Being a procrastinator from a family of procrastinator I put off some work on my bike till the last minute. I called my Fave LBS, identified myself and asked if there was any chance they could help me out. They said sure, bring it in by closing (yesterday) and we'll squeeze you in and you can pick up your bike tormorrow afternoon (which is today).
After the work order was written up I offered cookies to them and they accepted.
Is this considered rewarding them or bribery for future considerations?

a little from column A and a little from column B.
I give the head mechanic at the bike shop a bottle of vodka at the start of each season. Now I just walk the bike straight into the service shop and get the work done while I wait. First class, the only way to fly.

Just think of it as giving a good tip to a waitress or waiter. They will remember your face as soon as you walk through the door next time. A week before Christmas I brought a case beer for the mechanics and a bottle of good wine for the sales staff. I guess you could consider that bribery. Hey we are all on a first name basis now. That's got to be a bonus.

Make mine Makers Mark, but it goes a long way to priority service.
Just being freindly in general and understanding if we really can not do it(overhaul in Friday eve ready for Saturday morning) will get you excellent service. ( I might even stay up til' two am to do that overnight overhaul if you are the kind of customer that is generally cool/good to us.)

I fully understand this--I would try never ask them to to a big job ASAP unless it were an emergency. An overhaul with a one day turnaround, something big that could and should be scheduled, nope, I know better and I know I am a procrastinator! It is nice to have a good working relationship with them, that I can ask a small favor once in a while. Both the LBS guys and I know that each party will be willing participants in the future; I'll try to take all the business I can there and they will try to take care of my business, which I appreciate!
Man, I wanna buy a new bike especially so I can buy it from them. . .
