So what is the best price anyone has gotten a LHT frameset for? What is wholesale? Do different LBSs get different inventory? One said they only could get Truckachino, while the other had Olive, Ultility Blue and Truck. I really want the Red. If not, then Blue. I saw the Olive and it wasn't my 'bag'(Austin Powers), neither was the trucka.

To keep the suspense I'll wait to tell the prices I have been quoted. Neither was awesome, but was better than the mandatory MSRP seen and heard around here...:thumb:

I just bought a 52" utility blue frame for 319.00 I thought that was a good deal. I got it from great adventure sports.

The 'red' wasn't carried forward to the 2009 line, but may still be found somewhere in old stock. Likey to get the best price that way too, as a 2008 closeout.

Blue was the only color they offered in either 52 or less or 60 and greater.

I really want the Red.

Beware of the Cherry Red powdercoat. It flaked off very easily and I eventually decided to get mine sandblasted and powdercoated. Surly did warranty a few for the paint but not mine. YMMV

New Surlies only come wholesale thru QBP, which is the parent company/soul distributor. For '09s, they're getting $269 per frameset, these are the tan ones or the olive ones with the new-style drop-outs. Limited sizes are left in the blue with the old drop-outs, these wholesale for $242 for the 26" wheel sizes, slightly more for the few 700c sizes they have left. The red frameset has gone the way of the buffalo. They're still around, but not often seen on the market.

Please remember that your local and online retailer will be loathe to discount the frames, ever, b/c Surly/QBP gets p!$$y if you don't stick to msrp. Plus, they're popular frames. If you must haggle, try to haggle by getting discounts on other stuff (componenets, accessories) that you'll buy with the frame. But, really, you see LHT's for $420 everywhere, all day. If you can't swing $420, look at something cheeper or work some overtime somewhere.
