I just bought my first pair of shoes a couple weeks ago. I might have been dreaming, but I think I read that you can adjust how easy it is to come out of your shoes. How can I do this. Thanks for the help.

It's not by adjusting the shoes.
What kind of pedals do you have?
Most SPD (Shimano and their clones) have a spring tension adjustment screw on each side of the pedal.
Other pedals like Crank Bros. and Time's will require you to put the cleat in one direction for less float and the other way for more float.

Uh, tie your shoelaces tigher?
I think you mean adjusting how tightly you are clipped in? You can make it easier/harder to clip in/out by fiddling with the hex bolts on the pedals. There should be a + and - to show which direction is tighter and looser. Remember to adjust both sides of the pedal, if there is a clip on either side. The recommended way of making adjustments is to first loosen (turn towards -) the bolt as far as possible then tighten, counting the number of turns you go. Then do the same for each of the other three bolts, turning the same number of turns on each.
Someday I'll learn the actual technical names for stuff- I hope that made sense.

Just a note since you're new to clipless pedals. As your cleats wear-out, it will become increasingly harder to get out of the pedals. Most people, not knowing, would probably think the opposite....

Most SPD clones will also have a little indicator to display spring tension.
