Just had my physical.
My vitals are RHR 60, BP 110/75, Cholesterol 140 (total) Blood sugar was OK.

The Doc was rather nonplussed, and needing to find some fault, said I needed to loose weight. (DUH! Hello? I'm 350 lbs. Thank you Captain Obvious!)
She asked about my diet and exercise.
Out came the food diary and training log.

I could imagine gears clashing and the smell of smoke.
She finally just upped my thyroid dosage and told me to keep up the good work. (hee hee)

The best time I'd ever had at the Doctor's office.:roflmao2:

Unfortunately, it sounds as though your physician had her sense of humor surgically removed upon graduation. Were I you, getting her to laugh would become one of my goals in life.

D

p.s. Those vitals sound great; keep up the good work!

That's awesome man. Doctor's can be stupid. Last week my doctor started me on another blood pressure medication and removed the beta blockers. Well, I jumped on the exercise bike and before I started my BPM was 150. Not good. I freaked out and started taking the beta blocker again. Wouldn't you know it, my BPM went down to 75. Well, I did a little research and found that you need to ween yourself off the Beta Blockers or you could have a heart attack. Well folks, it's time to get a new doctor for the old Couch.

You're lucky, When I mentioned to my doc that I ride a bike she wanted me to wear motocross style body armor not to mention elbow and knee pads in edition to my helmet (when I showed her mine she said I needed something more full face).

I told her I'd take it under advisement but considering summer time temps, all that gear would most likely lay me out with a heat stroke, and my best defense was keeping aware and following safety rules of the road.

Good job on those numbers. I'm hoping that some day I can get off the diaretics for my bp.

Most likely was covering her six.......... She didn't want a malpractice lawsuit for not recommending the flak jacket, etc......

Actually, I'm very lucky that my Doc is a Runner and her brother is a cyclist (he races).
It just took a bit for me to convince her that someone my size could be quite athletic.

Oops...I have to admit that the BP is partially due to the lowest dose of Micardis (bp med) available, and I'm pushing for getting rid of it...Almost there.:o

I'm still feeling darned sluggish even with the Syntroid though. Naps are often mandatory in the afternoon to be able to function at work in the evening.

I can say, without a doubt, though...I've felt worse.:D

That is funny. These days, Dr's are just not at all used to people improving themselves.

My Physical Therapist told me told me some amazing stories, yesterday, about the lack of effort most people put into rehabing themselves. Seems that they just lay or sit there now and expect miracles without putting in any effort.

THe key for me to recover is to move within the guidlines of the injury. Sitting around will not get er done.

Oh, for an idea of what I am talking about (just went through), please check out the RR Crossing Crash thread on the commuter forum.

Great job on the vitals. I think I would have to be dying to take meds, don't trust em with all their side effects. Meds I've bought bought not taken: Vicoden, Percocet, antibiotics, FlowMax. Did let them give me a tetanus shot.

I tried Flowmax. Didn't change anything for me. I just gave up. Might as well accept that I'm approaching 50 and pee like the rest of them.
