My ideal touring is to travel light and enjoy the ride. I like to do supported tours, or loop rides from a base camp or motel from a central location. So Cycle NC's spring ride in mid-April fit the bill. The 3-day event was based in Washington, NC, with loop rides ranging from 10 to 108 miles each day. Our group averaged about 60 miles/day over the weekend. Here's a link to Cycle NC's web site as well as my Flickr photos from this year's ride.

Check it out if you're looking for a nice tour. CNC does a weeklong tour in the fall in addition to the 3-day tour each spring.
