Turning left through the busiest intersection in town, I wait in the lane and turn with the cars, hitting about 20 by the time I straighten out in the bike lane of the intersecting street. Then there's a quick right into an empty parking lot I cut through to get to my quiet side street - a short-cut home for lunch. This time, I hit 22 or so on the turn and took a bad line into the parking lot, heading right for the entry curb and landscaping. In the split second where I had time to either bunny-hop the curb and head through the bark, or slide back for a panic stop before I hit, I did neither - hitting the front brake too hard while positioned over the bar for a bunny-hop; it was a picture-perfect endo into bark and brush....
No harm done - there was a guy there talking on the phone with his jaw dropped, I jumped back up and laughed, gave him a :thumb: like, I do that all the time just for fun, put my chain back on and rode off. Oh well. Jammed my wrist a little, but not a scrape otherwise. I suppose a crash now and then keeps things alert and in perspective.
