Charity Events - A Question Regarding Anonymous Donors

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Occasionally I have received anonymous donations to my LiveStrong Challenge ride. However, I have been able to figure out who made the contribution by viewing my donations reports and/or by e-mail notifications from the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I like to send every donor a personalized thank you note. What do you think would be the best way to handle the donation?

1) Thank the donor, the same as I would for any other.

2) Send out a generic e-mail to everyone who I had sent requests to recently, so the donor doesn't feel "singled out". (But follow up with all other donors with a personalized thank you as well.)

3) Assume that the person wants to stay anonymous, and not say anything unless they bring it up first.

4) Feel flattered that those Victoria's Secret models are STILL stalking me! (Yeah, I'm sure that's it...)

What are your thoughts? Thanks for any suggestions. (Or any donations!) :D

If they wanted to be recognized they would have given their name.
