BMX - Knee pads: 661 Veggie Wrap or Pro-tec Double Down?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm thinking of getting some low profile knee pads just so that me knee doesn't get scratched up when I fall. Any one have experience with either of these?
Would you pick the Pro-Tec Double Down (http://www.warehouseskateboards.com/products.asp?item=3BPROQDDKN10000&class=3B&brand=PRO) or the 661 Veggie Wraps (http://www.danscomp.com/613004.php)? Do the Double Downs have some kinda adjustable velcro behind it?

People who enjoy their body parts the way they are.
Not sure about knee pad, but I just got the veggie wrap shin pads and they are great. Not bulky at all, feel good, do their job and were cheap.
Where did you buy your veggie wraps from? How much?

I don't need this. I have a huge 3 inch scar down my leg from my ACL surgery.

I got them from Price Point (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13013-536_SSOVS4-1-Clothing-14-Protective-Gear/661-Veggie-Shin-Wraps.htm) and they were like $24 shipped.
Not to confuse you guys further but how does the We The People Fuse Slim Knee Pads (http://www.5050bmx.com/We-The-People-Fuse-Slim-Knee-Pads-p141.html) fare against those 2?

i have the Protec Double Down pads and i cannot recommend them strongly enough. good padding but they fit under jeans. you can take some of the padding out for increased mobility. they don't breath very well (not at all actually).
my knees are dead from years of riding without pads. take care of your joints, kids. you don't want to walk like a feeble old man at the age of 27 like i do.

Knee pads are for people that are scared of getting hurt.
I used to do cross country and my dad always made me use a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and ect.
But now I got into bmx and I dont have to any more, and when I crash I'm like O that hurt and get back up and keep on going.

Maybe some people want to wear knee pads. Who cares if their "scared" of getting hurt. You go hit an 18 ft. vert ramp or do some X-Games Big Air without knee pads. Scared now?
