Computers received from unworthy1... quickly, packaged well. Even if I wasn't so pleased with the give away price and had paid a reasonable price, I would still be very happy with the transaction.

That was the one and only trade, I think. Has it been that long? Damn. I mostly ride vintage frames with modern drivetrains now

Don't rub in the sacrilege :p

However, I'm always looking for 100mm Cinelli stems (3ttt and Modelo, too) and Cinelli bars that have at least one groove and are larger than 40cm. Got any modern 10 speed Campy triple parts laying about? :)

Unfortunately, I always seem to find myself full of Cinelli (and a lone Nitto) stems in excess of 100mm. As for the bars, I generally find them w/o grooves. Cuda2k nabbed the only grooved (dual, as a matter of fact) Cinelli bars I had.

Nothing 10-speed. I go up to 8.

I've had nothing but very good experiences trading with these C&Vers:

bigbossman (sugino super maxy crank)
23skidoo (vittoria 27" tires)
USAZorro (chainrings)
Business810 (fixed gear cogs)
robbietunes (shimano 600 brakes)
spaceface (Ideale saddle)
unworthy1 (21.1 Dia-Compe stem)

Agreed. JFJ and I swapped FDs a few weeks back. Good Guy:thumb:

I've had good dealings with Robbietunes, Cyclotoine, and TimCuprey. There was one more BF member from a couple of years ago, but I can't remember his name. If I do, I'll change this post.
My dealings with TimCuprey have been substantial and always excellent.

I've got to ditto back to roccobike. We trade well, and he's picked up a set of wheels and a mixte for me when the CL "race" was on.

Besides that, we're both amazingly handsome, supremely intelligent, and our kids are well-behaved.

I have to add junkfoodjunkie to the list as well. We were discussing a trade, and in the end he offered to just mail me the seatpost I was looking for free of charge, and he wouldn't even let me cover the shipping!

I've had good experiences with everyone I've dealt with. Sadly, my mind is gone and I can't remember all of them.

I know I've dealt with Rotharpunc, txvintage, miamijim, 23skidoo, cyclotoine... Hmmm. That's all my brain will spew out at the moment. If you've been involved in a swap/sale with me and I haven't mentioned you, let me know.

Where is Rotharpunc anyway? Haven't seen him around here for a while.

Apparently he's busy helping teach kids about bikes and is working quite a bit. Or at least, that's what I've heard! :)

Excellent trade with Robbietunes. He sent me a wonderful Tange 1 Terry. Just got the bike today it looks great. It was a model of fine packing, and I still can't believe he was so generous. Next time, I will have to put a few cherries on top on my end.

I have yet to have a transaction with anybody on BF go south, kind of encompasses everyone, to date.

My most recent victims are banjo_mole and 6erweb, I think...and afilado has always been a source of advice and an example of how to do it right.

Actually, I owe JunkYardBike something, anything...though I think I have a decal he maybe could use.....Patrick, could you use one of these?

It should also be mentioned that Afilado also provided some encouragement and research material for my Schwinn project. His beautiful Circuit, actually. Shipped quickly, and packed exceptionally.

+1 Afialdo is a great guy! I have too many to list but most all of my transactions on the forums have been great. A few that come to mind are:
Banjo-mole
Junkyardbike
Cudak888
Robbietunes
yellowjeep
Miamijim
23skiddo
Oldfatguy
Like I said, too many to list. Some day I will go through my pms and list everyone... maybe not.

Thanks for the kind words, but it should be known I was very reticent to sell. delicious twisted my arm...for months on end! Well, that may be an exaggeration, but he was persistent, and it paid off. I'll add he was very generous on his end of the transaction, and a pleasure to deal with.

You don't owe me anything, Rob. I don't have any immediate plans for a repaint, either. I'm sure you'll repaint another of these frames sooner than I will! :p If I ever need it, I'll get in touch with you, and if you don't have it, you've already done the legwork getting the designs to JR. That's payment enough.

Only had one transaction with a BF member so far, and that was with Iowegian.

I traded my old first generation STI brifters for his 8-speed Chorus RR derailleur. The derailleur was great, but to hear him talk it was only so-so. It was a real pleasure dealing with him.

I have had great experiences with everyone here both buying and selling lots of odds and ends, except for one 'person' I do not think he is a 'regular' member

he offered me a very nice Bianchi (see C&V evaluation) and I agreed to the price he set knowing the bike was worth between 400 to 900 depending on the buyer. he then decided to sell to someone else but said he would call me again if the sale did not go through. now the bike is on ebay, starting at 400 I contacted himeand he wants 800 plus I have to purchase another bike for 150.

I have had good luck with afilado and cyclotoine. Both are very knowledgable and helpful. Plus, both were patient while I made up my mind to purchase from them. Cyclotoine was overly cautious in his description of a seatpost, so it came to me in better condition than expected. I like that!

Not being a regular member I was hesitant at showing interest in some used items being sold by mkeller234. Not only did the transaction proceed smoothly, but I have to say the items (Brooks saddle and Shimano 600 RD) were in better than expected condition, packaged very well, and sent very promptly.

I ordered something three business days ealier from a location 1500 miles closer and it still isn't here. Kudos, mkeller234! Thanks for trusting the new guy!

Most excellent dealings here with Junkyardbike and 5cgm, but...

The Top Prize and A Tip O' The Doctor's Hat goes to Bianchigirll. Bought her Schwinn Tempo and it arrived today- impeccable condition, incredible packing job, absolutely TOP NOTCH, and shipping was the same price I;d pay through my shipping department. Awesome.

Nice to do business with people who care about doing this stuff right as much as I do.

I got to add another name in the list: miamijim. I practically stole a wheelset from him a couple weeks ago and it was in-pec-able. Now I need a frame to mount it on...

Rccardr sent out a nicely packaged set of bar tape very quickly. More quickly than I was able to get him the chain rings, since I had forgotten I had left them in my parent's garage! Thanks for a great transaction.

I am not sure if this belongs here, or if it even deserves to be posted at all. we buy, sell, and trade alot of goodies here. I for the most part have had good luck with one exception. I stated in a thread about types of brakes somewhere that I would gladly trade my Record DP brakes for a Cobaltos. naturally someone took me up on this offer and admitted to not haveing the gems in either brake. I thought perhaps I could over look this as I never really like the DP brakes any way. well after a short delay he emailed me pics of his brakes. and I in return email pics of mine. after seeing pics of his brakes I kindly explained that I regretfully felt I could have to go bak on my word and not trade. do you think I was wrong? here are pics of his brakes and then mine. I did offer that if he cleaned them real well and put new pads I may reconsider, but I have not heard back from him

I don't think you should worry about it. It's not a big deal, nobody lost anything, and the possible trader took some time too so probably wasn't TOO caught up in it either.

First, Force sent some awesome parts and was a pleasure to deal with.

Second...citoyen was fantastic to deal with and sent me a much appreciated c-record headset in better than hoped for condition.

third....a quick story (humming it's a small world....)

I was looking to get an older steel MTB as a winter ride and ended up talking to a guy in the burbs out here...he was a pleasure to talk with on the phone and answered all emails very quickly. I go out there, and it turns out to be a BF member, Nikkorod (the first I've met). The transaction went well, I love the bike and strongly recommend him as a seller.

BianchiGirl and I did a little transaction involving two NOS Flickstands which she pulled from some stash of goodies, a brake cable bracket I had, and a bit of cash. Obviously she's as good as gold, and like so many people here also a great source of information and inspiration for an newish C&Ver like me.

Sheesh, this was back in June, but lubers sold me a used Brooks flyer at a fair price. It was packaged very nicely and in beautiful condition. Thanks again Jeff.
