Fiori (http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/447625/)

All the similar steel road bikes in my area (Vancouver) are much too large for me, but this one sounds about right. And he's asking $30 for it!

My goal is to just get a nice steel frame and upgrading it.

Now I know this Vitus (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280337023919&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123) isn't steel, but it seems like a nice frame. Are all the horror stories of the glued tubes coming undone true? I'm only 145lbs so I don't imagine the flex would be a big issue. Would it be worth paying the $150 CAD + bidding price for the frame?

I own a 979 myself. I've heard all these stories so I did my own research. My opinion is that there are more stories than actual problems. The most evidence for tubes coming undone I could find was with the Vitus carbon frames which did have a documented problem. I suspect this problem with carbon frames took on a more general tone for all Vitus frames over time. Having said that I think it is prudent to err on the side of caution and it would be worth checking the frame yourself and making sure.

FWIW, I ride my Vitus a lot and haven't had any frame issues.
