Introductions - New member, moving to Boulder in exactly five weeks

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone! I actually already posted in the Commuting and Mountains-Plains forums, since I didn't see this one, but figured I'd introduce myself here now anyway! on May 29th I will be setting out by car for Boulder, and after arriving, will be looking to get seriously into biking, which I haven't done since I was little, and then only a bit (I never even got the hang of shifting, so I will have to learn that). Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself formally here. Five weeks is seeming like forever now!

Boulder is a great place to ride. It's one of the most friendly towards cyclists and it has a huge amount of open space to really get out and stretch your legs. I love riding down there.

Welcome to bikeforums. :)

I remember three things about riding a bike in Boulder - the traffic (grrr!), the wind (grrr!) and the invisible ice that formed on the wood planking of the bridges along Boulder Creek (ouch!). You can maybe tell I wasn't a fan. :) Watch out for those invisibly icy bridges!

Then I moved to East Denver which was quite a nice place to bike around.

Hmm, I had only heard positives about biking in Boulder before. I will be careful of those bridges. Thanks for the welcome everyone!
