has anyone here done this? if so, what components did you use?

i really want to buy one provided i can covert it relatively easily (= no custom machined adapters.) i've built bikes up from components, so don't mind mechanical assembly, but i'm not up for custom machining here.

the spec's say that both the front hub and fork are disc compatible. does this mean the front wheel can be used as is?

does the read swingram accept a regular mountain bike disc brake cassette hub? since the specs say that the swingarm has disc brake tabs, i'm assuming i won't have to modify the swingarm.

thanks,

I know someone has converted their DT to disc brakes...there was no report of special adapters. I think you could install standard parts no problem.

But you can't use the wheels. You have to have hubs which can take disc brake rotors. So at least the hubs have to be replaced.

yeah, looks like you will have to replace the hubs, other than that you should be good to go...
dosent look like downtube cater much to customization for their customers.. have you even asked if you can just buy the frameset?
....then again for that price, you might as well have the extra wheels I guess, you can always try hawking them.
