I ride this loop all the time, and usually just take the scenery for granted. But, with all the pictures posted by others here of their ride I thought I would stop and grab a few photos while I was riding yesterday. The loop itself is just under 11 miles. The path I take on the weekends is a bit over 16 miles, which includes the to/from the house portion. The larger river is the Columbia. The smaller river is the Wenatchee. The city was built, as you may have guessed, at the confluence of those two rivers.

Very nice. I toured some of the apple packing houses in Wenatchee & Chelan (my past industry) back in the mid 80's after Mt. Saint Helen's coated the countryside. You live on the edge of a desert in the Pacific NW. Everyone equates Washington with Seattle, but after you cross the mountains east of Seattle it gets dry in a hurry.
Thanks for sharing.

Some beautiful scenery there! Thanks for sharing that with those of us who miss the sagebrush and open space of Central Washington  .

I deal a lot with various IT vendors throughout the country and their comment every time they learn where I am is, "You must get a lot of rain there."
As you noted, I don't ;)
It is funny you mentioned Mt St Helens. When that erupted I was, well, younger. My family was camping and not indulging in modern luxuries like TV or radio. We saw the sky growing darker, but didn't know what it was until a helicopter landed and some guy got out and told us about the eruption, all the ash heading our way, and that we needed to pack up and get out of there.
What a fun few weeks that was!
