EDITED: See post below for details.
I built this custom bike up last Fall while managing a shop. After being laid off in February...now I can use the cash more than the bike.

Parts include:
2008 Surly Pugsley chromoly frame and fork in battleship gray, size large
32h Surly Large Marge with Shimano XT rear hub, 11-34 Shimano cassette
32h Surly Large Marge with Surly front hub, Shimano 18t freewheel, swappable with rear wheel
Surly Endomorph 26X4" tires and tubes
SRAM X-9 shifters and rear derailleur, Shimano SLX front derailleur specific for MTB compact double
Truvativ Hussefelt 24X36t crankset w/external BB for 100mm BB shell, white Hussefelt DH pedals
Truvativ 120mm XR stem and Kore Torsion bars, 700mm wide! (can be cut to any size), Lizard Skinz Charger grips in gray
Silver Deore brake levers pulling Avid BB-7 disc brakes, 185mm rotors f&r
Ritchey WCS 350mm seatpost holding up a very large and comfy Titec El Norte DH saddle
KMC 9-speed chain and all new cables

Other bling items:
Blue anodized Salsa Flipoff skewers and QR seatclamp, blue anodized headset cap

Other items included:
Jannd Mountaineering large seatbag to accommodate a spare tube, tube included
AMF Threadworks Moose Mitts pogies to keep your hands toasty

Although I had great intentions to take this out daily last Winter...it turns out I was less motivated to brave the cold than expected. The bike only has a few test miles on it after it was built up with all new parts, but the float and traction on snow is truly amazing, like snowshoes for a bike. The only visible flaws are some tiny scratches on the left seatstay from an idiot treating it like a $0.25 horsey ride in front of the shop then leaning it against a concrete pillar, hence the headset cap. Believe me, you'll have a hard time keeping people off this like-new rig.

This bike is incredibly versatile and can be converted to a 29er with just a wheelset swap (which is what I'll do if it doesn't sell). Retail price would be in excess of $2800, I'm asking $2100. I am willing to pack and ship, but keep in mind this is a very large and wide bike and will likely be more costly to ship than the norm. Shipping is not included in the price, but will professionally pack for no extra charge. I will also meet with a potential buyer locally. Serious inquiries only. Scammers and lowballers will be laughed at. For offers, questions or more pictures, send me a Personal Message and we can chat.

Note: This is also listed on CL (http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/1361243830.html)

Thanks for viewing! :D

One inquirer asked about the specific frame sizing.

This is the Large 20" frame and fits me well at 6'-4", but I am leggy and short-torsoed. I typically ride a 19" frame with a long seatpost, but this frame was even shorter than expected, hence the 120mm stem. I also switched from a zero offset seatpost to the Ritchey to get the cockpit where it fit. I am confident this frame would accommodate anyone around the 6' mark or taller well. Test riders of around 5'-9" or taller could be accommodated. If needed I have some other stems and the zero offset seatpost to ensure fit.

For additional frame geometry specs see Surly's website (http://www.surlybikes.com/pugsley.html).

Thanks for the bump. :)

You can buy that cap on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Get-off-my-Bike-Custom-Top-Cap-NEWEST-STYLE_W0QQitemZ360159165151QQihZ023QQcategoryZ7295QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)...but I'd rather you just buy the whole bike. :p

is this still for sale?

That it is.

It's changed a little though. A buddy bought my Kona Scab frame and needed bars and stem. The only thing I had available was a new and equivalent (though not as ridiculously wide as the Kore bars) white Truvativ set, so I swapped them onto the Pugsley where they appear to belong.

The bike is now in Denver. I used it to get around at the Blast the Mass race in Snowmass hoping someone would approach me to buy it. Afterward I brought it to the home of a very good friend of mine in Littleton, also a pro wrench, in the hopes that when listed on craigslist again, someone would be able to actually see and ride (and buy) the bike. If anyone not in Denver is interested in it, I can arrange for him to pack and ship it.

I've never seen a bike like this, I don't have the money to buy it sadly, but I love it. Greetings from Ireland

Bump for a cool bike. One of the LBS owners put one of these together and allowed me to give it a go. YEAH BABY... I'd have one of these but I have too many toys at the moment. Somebody needs to buy this...:thumb:

Burp.

Any chance you'd be willing to part with the glove things?

Pogies or "Moose Mitts" is what they're called...and they rock! You can wear thin gloves to feel your controls, yet your pitties are toasty warm. They also seal with velcro to keep the controls dry when you're parked at the store...and it's snowing.

I know those would be handy for you bro, but I custom ordered those for the Pugsley (they're made-to-order). I'd rather sell the whole package complete for someone needing a fully set up snow rig.

No worries. The Pugs would rock it superhard out here. Those things are a blast to ride and unbelievably great in the snow.
