Our next door neighbor needs to sell his tandem.....a mid 70's WTE...made in tiawan. Does anyone know anything about this brand. It's maybe "Huffy" quality. Heavy steel. Cruiser HBs and saddles. 6 speed Shimano tourney rear derailleur. Rear drum, front caliper brakes. Plastic pedals. The neighbor says he bought it new in '73 or '74. He had a bike shop go through it last year so it looks good and seems to ride fine.

I tried to be truthful and said it wouldn't be worth enough to ship it anywhere. But maybe a local Craigslist shopper might pay "?" for it. Any forum member's thoughts would be appreciated.

I would go with Craigs List or Garage sale typ of approach and help him to be realistic as to price. A decent brand of that vintage with semi entry level componentry would sell for way under $1000 so I might guess $250. There are always beginners looking to get some tandem experience before spending more. That is you market for that bike.

A no-known-brand Huffy-type 70s tandem would be nice for around the block type rides.
A hundred bucks would be the max in our book.

With the info provided by you two, the neighbor put a price on it of $275, including a hitch mount rack. Advertised in the local Trader's it sold in 4 days at full price.

Thanks for your input
