Europe - Looking for good online stores in Europe

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm looking for something like Performance Bike or Nashbar in Europe, someplace which has a really wide selection I can peruse through. Here in Luxembourg we don't have much in the way of stores and available merchandise. Any ideas or experiences to share?

I never found anything with a big range. Normally I'd just search google for things I wanted and then check out the shops that sold it online. I got some good bargains that way.

http://www.probikekit.com/ is probably the best and cheapest I used to use, but it doesn't have a wide range.

With the pound so low, British stores are a very good deal right now.

Chain Reaction Cycles (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/)
Wiggle (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/d/cycle/7/1/1/)
Dotbike (http://www.dotbike.com/)
SJS Cycles
(http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/)

A few German ones as well:
Bike-Components.de (http://bike-components.de/?language=en&osCsid=e4372509d1a771b364b546e19aa3390d)
Action Sports (http://www.actionsports.de/index.php?language=gb)
XX Cycle (http://www.xxcycle.com/)
Bike 24 (http://www.bike24.com/1.php?lang=2;ID=39a56013d4a5aa8d1f0ac03a4d93b02c)

Veloplus has a huge accessories for sale, but as they're outside of the EU you have factor customs costs into purchases (and you need German to navigate the website!)
Veloplus (https://www.veloplus.ch/default.asp?redirect=altershop)

Happy shopping!

The UK pound is very weak right now, making many things a bargain. However, all of the stores seem to have recently reacted to this and increased the prices of new Shimano items significantly - at the moment those are better to buy from countries using the Euro. Products from other manufacturers can still be had for a good price in the UK, though.

Not all of the German stores have an English-language version, or at least they are not very complete, so here (http://www.fa-technik.adfc.de/Ratgeber/Bictionary/DE.html) is a useful translation guide for bike parts for German to English (just use your browser's search function to go the other way). Since the OP lives in Luxembourg, (s)he may well speak German, but this may be of use to other people that stumble across this thread.

BTW, XX Cycle is French, it's the place to go for custom cassettes and chainrings (especially TA stuff).

Nope, ich spreche kein Deutsch and ech schwarze keen Letzebuergisch, but je parle français, so the French ones are definitely good. Sure miss Performance Bike, though. They were tops.

Thanks for all the tips everyone! Now to find one that carries foldable 20" Schwalbe tires...

A few more from the UK:
Ribble (http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/)
Evans (http://www.evanscycles.com/)
Petra (http://www.petracycles.co.uk/)

Hi, I buyed online from Chain Reaction Cycles, Bike Components and Bike 24, told on a previous post: the first is probably the cheapest (actually, for non-uk buyers), the second is maybe the widest, and the third is a bit more expensive but has items of good quality.
Everything went right with all of them.

A couple of sites I visit far too frequently: http://www.roseversand.de and http://www.globetrotter.de. There's also this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=142127) for some oldish pointers. As far as I know, the links are still valid.

My german collegues tend to buy stuff from http://www.lucky-bike.de/ -- a lot like performance bike in that they have cheap bikes and accessories, with a wide variety of stuff. Their outlet stores are an experience.

I really like this place. Great selection and prices, although sometimes shipping can be slow if the item isn't in stock. http://bike-components.de
