I got off work last night, after having a great ride to work, sunny, warm, and the forcast calling for rain later, but after midnight, and they're never right. Wrong!
I got off at midnight, and it was starting to sprinkle. Then as I rode, of course without rain gear, it started to rain a little steadier, nothing heavy, and no thunder or lightening, just a steady rain, a good soaker. I love riding in summer rains, where there is the humidity and the warmth of the rain, but this was one of those late spring rains, chilling, and it was midnight to boot. So along with riding I was kicking myself for not loading up the with the messneger bag, rain gear and fixed gear. I rode the roadie for fun and enjoyment, of course that means looking cool, so no bag, no fenders. There's a nice puddle of wet sand under my geared clothes hanger in the kitchen.
One plus the route home was faster than I've done, and my average was better than I've done in a while: 1:23:27 16.6, can only imagine what it would have been like on dry pavement that I wasn't fearing the bike sliding into the barriers like Ulrich in the time trials.
