Pacific Northwest - Rides around Bellevue

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am going to be staying in Bellevue the first of next week. I will be around exit 10 on I-90, by 139th AVE SE. If you know where that is, you know better then me. If I can get my bike there, I would like to try do some riding. Is there a route or path I could take out of the area. I would like to keep the ride under 40 miles, simply because I don't know what time in the evening I will be starting.
I've looked on map my ride, but without knowing the area it is difficult to choose what might be best. So what is your best suggestion.

That sounds like the Factoria area, probably on Eastgate way - about 2 miles from my home. Lots of biking options. Here are a couple from MapMyRide:
Lake Washington Loop:

You could bike into Seattle on the I-90 trail and do one of these loops:

You are also near the Eastgate Park & Ride so you could bike a few blocks there, put your bike on a bus if you want to shorten things a bit.
Bellevue's cycling page is here complete with a detailed map for 2009:

That's just scratching the surface. Post a reply with any further parameters and I can refine the choices a bit if you'd like.
yeah if you have time, the lake wa loop is definitely worth it.
also worth seeing is mercer island, just west of you in factoria: http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=894
36th st is a good connector (although a big hill) east & west. http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=1082
at the west edge of that route is the I-90 bike trail, that can take you all the way into seattle as well as to mercer island. at the east end of that route is newport way, a nice road that can take you to cougar mountain, one of our best climbs: http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=6389 (start the cougar climb at 54th st, just off of newport way)
