can changed into a multi speed bike or no? would it be all right for an uber clyde I/E 500lbs and falling

Unless you live some place completely flat, I can't recommend it. It's single speed and going to stay that way. You'll probably be better served by continuing to look.

If it's got track ends, you can put an IGH on it for extra gears, but that's more trouble than it's worth.
