Hello again...

I am new to the cycling world and am looking to pick up a used bike for some casual biking.

I am thinking of visiting a seller with a Raleigh LTD-3 (asking $165) and a Marquis 3-speed (asking $140). I don't know anything about value, so was wondering if this is a decent asking price or too high.

He says they're both in very good condition and ready to ride. I live in Los Angeles.

Thanks so much.

It is mainly according to the bike market where you live if they are worth that price. Around here, serviced, & ready to go in nice condition, $125- 150 for the Raleigh is fair. Don't know about Marquis bikes. I like the green one with the baskets. Those baskets cost $30. BUT, I don't like them attached to the top of the fender. They are much better if attached to a vintage luggage rack.

LA is a tough market to buy in. The Raleigh LTD is high, but you're in a high market. I'd see if the seller will come down to around $130-140. If yes, you're good, if not, it's all about how bad you want the bike.
I don't know anything about Marquis so no comment.
