Cool. A 120 mile long hill.
Looks like another breakaway type day.
That is just painfully long. remember, I'm a flat lander.

I've been on some of these roads. Probably the prettiest countryside I've ever seen. Once they're up on the plateau at Zuoz, it's pretty much flat, then comes a really difficult descent down the Maloja pass (super-tight switchbacks), and then it's really just bombing down to Chiavenna. The other direction--Chiavenna to St. Moritz--is a classic training ride for the locals. Keep your eyes peeled, it's impossibly beautiful.

What was with the sprinters teams today? Did the weather put them off that much?
It's extremely difficult and risky to try to catch a break downhill and in the wet, especially on roads like those. I'd say the instinct for self-preservation ruled the day.
