Looking to upgrade the stock wheels. I'd like something light, fast, and smooth! Suggestions? I ride strictly on road surfaces.

Folks on these boards have mentioned Velocity rims. If you're going to have a shop build up a wheel for you, you might ask to see what they use. You can also have an online seller build up a wheel for you... Gaerlan, Harris Cyclery and Peter White come to mind.

I've never built one nor have I had one built for me so I can't add anything beyond the above... which has been mentioned elsewhere on this forum.

Take a look on the Dahon site.. the Kinetix Comp wheels complete with hubs are a bargain ... if you're feeling flush, the Kinetix Pro wheels are also priced very competitively and very high quality..

I don't think there is any advantage to upgrading the wheels, unless the wheels are broken. You're much better off swapping out the tires.

Do a search, there is at least one thread in here on tire choices.

do the kinetix rear wheel come in complete with hub and is it a freewheel hub that i can just swap my cogs ?
