All that misguided and fruitless work LPR did today may well come back to haunt them. I thinks someone from Astana will attack early (maybe Popovych), and Liquigas will hit it late.

LPR must be totally fried, I can't see them doing anymore work. I have to say that Levi doesn't look as sharp as Menchov especially when the climbs are above 10%.
I can't see to much changing on GC on this stage, the almost 30km downhill flat run in will be a breakaways delight again. Astana would be wise to send a rider up the road to try and make Rabobank work. ISD have been so visual in the breaks without any success so I'll go for Andriy Grivko for this stage.

For sure, they've got to be cooked. The fact that they couldn't bring the break back today was pretty telling.
As far as Levi goes, He's not looking like a GC threat to me. He just can't respond to the big hills and accelerations like he needs to be able to. There's still a lot of racing left, but he doesn't seem too fresh.
These guys are killing themselves today and are really going to be struggling tomorrow.

my favorite part of today's ride:
All the Italian fans yelling "Dai, Dai, Dai!" (die, die, die!)
one of my italian friends vouched that yes, it does indeed mean "go, go, go!"

Basso made it an exciting race today. Tomorrow will be a killer.
