Hello
This topic is going to be on transportation logs.

I found a nifty sight which tracks all of your transportation for you via tags.

So I know I walk 7 mi each day on certain days. I tag that with walk.
It counts all my walks together according to the date I walked. IE range

There is a bicycle radio button and an "other" so it can skip your bicycle portion all together.
You can add whatever tags plane, subway, LTR, bus.

Bicycle is great by the way. Multiple bikes, import url (bikely or mapmyride) routes, blog posting, tags, and versus stats.

I keep my mileage on a calendar next to the computer. If I need to log anything, it would go there. I think the calendar kind of replaces my cyclocomputer. Having a more elaborate log seems excessive in my case. I would end up filling up the log with mindless trivia like "14 miles to work and back. it was raining hard today. My rain jacket isn't very rain proof. I wish I had fenders."

I do it in a text file on my computer. I'm primarily interested in dollars per mile, so the only mileage I keep track of is the total on each bike. With my car, I've additionally begun keeping track of the miles I get from each tank, as well as the overall lifetime mpg (currently ~17.5 over 1050+ miles). My bike dollar/mile ratios are $1.14 and $1.19, while my car's is currently right at $1.99/mile. It's fun to watch the numbers go down as the mileage goes up on all three vehicles.

I use my notebook journal. I have a separate printed form for bike miles that I update weekly based on my cycle computer. I also write my total exercise time in minutes in the margin every day, along with a B for bike, a W for walking, etc. I average the times every week and copy them on the printed form.

I have used web-based sites in the past, but find it's just as quick to use the journal instead.

I've ridden so far without counting, it seems silly to start now. ;)
