Hey, I just ordered my very first roadbike, a Bianchi Brava! My LBS was very careful and very thorough in sizing me up; I'm going with a 52cm size, which they didn't have in the shop so they special ordered it for me. It'll be here next week, yippie!!
I test rode a 52 cm Bianchi they did have in the shop and wowee those road tires sure are skinny! I'm a mountain biker so the road position was kind of foreign to me--not uncomfortable, just different.
I can't wait til my Bianchi gets here! Yee haw!!

I have an Allez too. What's up with the snapping frame?!? How do you manage that? mine is about 4 model years old, and it is Chromoly. Is there something I should know?

I Dont know I am kinda heavy for a cyclist I guess I was about 180 lbs the first frame I snapped and about 200 lbs the last frame I snapped. I was not exactly a loving owner of my frames. I never abused the frames but they were ridden hard. The first one snapped at the rear stay and I think it was because the rear rim had lost it's dish from my crappy truing job. The second one snapped a week after after a lady cut me off on the way to a time trial and I was doing 65 KmPh. and had to bunny hop a curb, when my back rim hit it. I broke the rim and a week later, the chain stay snapped at the bottom bracket on my way to work. My last one that I snapped I treated like a piece of rare jewlery, and man it was worth it's weight in gold, and it snapped at the rear of the chain stay where the first one snapped while I had one foot on the ground waiting at a red light. Now I have a aluminum Allez and I am waiting till I am in peak fitness to ride it, sorta as a treat. It is not bad having them beak every year or two cause I always have a new bike and the money I save I bought 2 cannondales a touring and a mountain bike.
Akarius,
It makes me wonder why you seem excited to break frames. Specialized is putting you in a bad position. Have you ever got injured? Had to walk home? That would not be cool of Specialized made a bike that worked. Just think about it. I have seen 1-2 bad injuries due to frame or part failures and the last thing on these folks minds is getting a new product in the new colour. They now have huge hospital bills to take care of. Just be aware.

Well Xavier I have never been injured and I have recieved new bikes because of it. Your what if theory makes it sound as if you are my mother. What if when walking under a bridge it collapsed? I see what you mean but I have indeed gotten a new frame every few years and not had to pay a cent. And yes I did get stuck in the middle of nowhere cause my frame broke, and that sucked I had to wait 4 hours on a lonely highyway for my ride.

Not if the concern is not valid, one can not dwell all his life on the what if's they should be considered but not used to rule ones life, and hey I have only gained from this expirience.

Nothing like resurrecting a 4 year old thread to celebrate the purchase of a new bike.
