I just posted a thread on pump problems, but maybe the problem is with the valve (or me). I have a 2003 Trek 7500 FX with the original Bontrager tubes and tires still intact. I am using a Bell "The Jury" pump that can allegedly go up to 160 psi. It uses a screw on attachment that fits over the presta valve itself and then the pump head attaches to it.

Problem is, I can't get the pump to actually connect properly. I've had the pump checked out and it works on other presta valves, but not these.

Has anybody else had problems with Bontrager tubes? Of note, I even got a set of Schrader converters and that still didn't help. It appears the pump is not pushed the valve stem down far enough to make a connection.

Thanks

make sure the presta valves nut is unscrewed before you put the pump on.

Unscrew the locknut on the Presta valve. Tap the top of the locknut to break the seal on the valve body. Then attach the adapter and you should be able to pump the tires up.
