Hi,
I'm currently living in Warsaw, Poland, and want to build up a single speed for commuting to work.
I've found this frame for sale on the Polish equivalency to eBay...
i don't know anything about silo except it is swiss. are they ok frames? how old do you think this frame is?
does the rust at the seat post clamp look problematic?
i know if you aren't from Poland you won't be able to give a very value, but give it your best shot!
thanks for your help

how many zlots to the $? I'd say it's a fine frame and you'll probably be very happy with it, assuming it fits and there's no damage to the seat cluster (pic shows something that seems a bit suspect, back there). This is a late semi-aero model that I've never seen imported to the USA, but how can you miss with a quality SLX frame?

as of today, the exchange rate is approx. 3.27zl to $1

so the opening bid is about $17? and shipping to *somewhere* is around $8? My math may be off, but I'd say the frameset is well worth at least $150 or 490zl (the usual caveats apply).

It looks like the seat cluster lug is broken in half....

It looks like the seat cluster lug is broken in half....
Looks more as if its had one side brazed back on.
Has a value for the fork and headset only.

what a nice bike. something very elegant about it. the seatstay bridge looks like a cinelli one i remember being mentioned in a thread a week or so back. durned if i can find it, though.
hope there's no permanent damage to it, it could be a real find.

my math could be off, but looks like it went for around $77(US). If the seat cluster was OK that was an outstanding deal, did our OP score it?

I ended up not bidding on that frame.
It is in fact damaged, so not worth my time, if only the fork is useable.
thanks for your help, i didn't see the cracks
until Dyermaker and Cudak pointed it out. (THANK YOU!)
the seller was claiming that only the paint was chipped there,
hence the close-up at the not-too-revealing angle.
BTW, that is an average price for a vintage frame in Poland...
for obvious reasons the old european models are easier to find here,
also partially becuase they are not so trendy (again? / yet?) as in US cities.
thanks for all your help. still searching, have my eye on an even better one now!

Don't give up on Cilo. If I could buy them at Euro prices and bring them here, I'd buy a truckload.
