here's a quick snapshot of my new bike. it's a 2004 Orbea lobular carbon. i've got it built with
DA 10-spd plus ITM stem and handlebars, Easton seatpost, and a Alpha Qsub3 fork. i'm still
dialing in the fit so i've got some extra steerer tube at the moment. the photo really doesn't due
the paint-job justice....and the bike rides as nicely as it looks.

it'd be mistake not to thank this forum for all of the helpful info that i gathered while building the
bike. thank you much,

wow, nice bike. You are really tall. Maybe it's just the angle, but the seatpost looks just about as long as the seattube.

Anyway, how much do carbon orbea's go for? I've always wondered how much i could build one for.

i'm relatively tall (6'2"), but not that tall. the frame has a sloping top tube, hence the
large amount of seatpost showing. the frame is a 60cm.

the lobular carbon frame runs something like $1,200 USD for the frame. the lobular carbon is
an aluminum frame with carbon seat & chain stays. the Orce, orbea's full carbon bike, costs closer
to 2K for the frame.

That's an awesome bike, great color.
A bit out of my league. I pick up my Cannondale R1000 up in a couple of weeks.

Wanna trade :D

Without a doubt Orbea has one of the sweetest production factory paint jobs on the market. Great rig.

I loved the looks of the Orbea's but they are so new to the U.S. that it's almost impossible (at least in CT) to test ride the exact frame you might want to buy. One of the 2 shops in CT only had an Orca ($4,300) and a leftover Maia (built to $2,700) when I stopped by.

Nice looking ride though...I love the fact there are NO stickers on their frames.

yeah, this is very true. in the entire bay area, only 2 shops even carry orbeas. i was able to
test ride the Orca and the Lobular Carbon, but both test frames were a bit small.

Your R1000 doesn't hold a backseat to too many bikes, including this Orbea.

I try to stay away from pictures of new bikes...Fearful that a titanium Litespeed might be featured...I would not mind at all, if Santa Claus dropped one on my house.

Nice looking bike, sure is a lot of seat post though.

more noticable to me than the seatpost is the large headtube on the orbea's.
the headtube on this bike is a whopping 205mm. the 60cm orbea orca has an
even larger headtube.
