Those aren't dents, they are put there for sprocket clearance.

whitewalls on BMXs has always been a status thing in my neighborhood before i was born. if you got 100 spokes on it your were higher on the ladder not so much anymore since you can get 100 spokes for around 120$ back they they sold for around 200$.

its staying ive had complaints everytime i flip bikes without stands. tires are Duros with a painted stripe

But back on topic. If i wanted to do this kind of paint job in my garage with some store bought cheap crap in cans, how would I go about doing so? Will any old paint remover do? Will any old metal paint work? Where do I start?

Regardless I think the paint job is pretty sick, esp because it is quality work. I bet that up the resale value to the right person by a bunch.
