frame: bianchi pista concept 2004, 51cm
stem: fsa os-170, 120mm
bars: deda pista
cranks: sugino 75
pedals (not pictured): look cx-6
rim, front: mavic gl330
rim, rear: araya pro staff 340
tires: tufo s3 lite < 165g, 700x18, 220 psi

i'm not expecting lots of "oohs" and "aahs", what with it being an aluminum frame and all, and let's not mention the clipless pedals. oh, cripes, aluminum bars too.

i just like to show off new toys.

Very nice, for the track or the street? What does that thing weigh in at?

i built it for the track, though i've a set of clinchers i may throw on for street use if i feel like it, but i've already got another bike (oddly enough, another bianchi) setup as fixed for the road.

weight, i dunno. the battery in our scale at work is dead. i'm going to guess somewhere around 15-16lbs though? it's noticably lighter than my salsa road bike, which comes in at 17lbs 10oz sans pedals.

dKeep this guy away from your beautiful bike. His little Freudian slip may lead to some unauthorized mileage

Oooo!! How much did you pay for the entire bike? I think it's sweet, just don't lock it anywhere or leave it outside!

aside from mine, there are only three or four other butts i can think of that'll ever touch that saddle.

i dont know off the top of my head what it cost. i added up the retail values (i work at a shop, i don't pay retail) a few days ago for another thread. it came out to around $1,450. on the rare occasion this bike will be ridden anyplace other than the velodrome, it wont be leaving my side.

i think it's alright. i'm not vehemently opposed to aluminum, i'm just not so much impressed with the geometry of it. the rear wheel looks like it's really far away from the seat tube, and the dropouts don't even look like they'll get the rear wheel anywhere close enough to it to warrant the cutout...but i could be wrong. i dig the fork though, and the bars, and the stem, and the pedals. ;)

since that photo was taken i've shortened the chain, which has moved the wheel into the cutout.

another thing to consider is just the size of my tires. 18mm tires aren't very tall. if i put some 23s or something on there it'd probably fill the gap a little better. but wider = heavier, generally, which is what i'm not looking for.

Whoa, Dude! I may prefer steel but if you like aluminum more power to ya! I think your bike rocks!

those 18's are HOTTTT..

I love the look of some of the modern aluminum track bikes..including this one...it's not for everyone, but some of the old lugged steel frames are too much/too hokey for me...

I have a stable full of lugged bikes and I can honestly say that the Pista 2000 series track bike is the only Modern Aluminum Track Bike that I would even think of buying. A very good value for the money and the welds are almost fillet brazed quality.
