"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Wilmington Grand Prix

Hey Guys-
Anybody coming to Wilmo for Grand Prix May 15 and 16? I'll be there working the ride-On Cables tent for work, it should be a great time as it was last year!

That race will be fast as h3ll especially since it is a 2/3 instead of the usual 3/4. I may do it since I live so close but not sure yet.

I'll be down with a couple of others.

I might try and come on the 15th, but wont be on the 16th due to race im in.

My 1st NRC assignement as an official, abeit, just as a lowly asst ref. I should be good an wore out from Bike Jam the day before. I'm gonna have another go at the Cat 4 race.

Kelly cup/bikejam is on sunday 5/17

Is the wilmington GP the one that is shaped like an "I" or a figure 8? I get the wilmington crits mixed up. If it's the one shaped like an I, turn 3/4 are really one turn and tight, and the crosswalks on the start finish stretch are brick, with concrete sides that are like 3" higher than everything else. I remember doing that when it was in september, and my arms being sore for a week!

I might sign up, but Kelly Cup is on Mothers day I believe, no chance I'll be at that one, but I dont mind, I hate that crashfest of a race.

ha! I guess i've done this one before!

MD - It's the 4 corner crit, the figure 8 is the gundel crit.

I think I am gonna do the smoketown airport crit instead, never raced on a runway before. I will probably come home and ride down to the wilmington crit to catch the Pro race though.

I had to check on mom's day and it's on the 10th this year (2nd Sunday of May). It's early this year. (Married)Guys don't miss this date or the rest of your race season may suffer.
