I'm looking for thoughts on the Ortlieb Roller Plus. I know alot of people use the roller classic but id like to here opinions on the Roller Plus.

Also before I order has anyone had experience with The Randonnee Shop, good or bad? This is where I am considering to purchase the Ortliebs, they have the best price I have found.

Thanks, Dave

I actually prefer the Classic, not the Plus. Somehow the Plus doesn't have the capacity of the Classic. Very subtle, but I find it easier to load the Classic.

This was most recently discussed in the following thread (among many):

I posted my views there, so I won't repeat them.

Also, many people like Wayne at http://www.thetouringstore.com - he gives good service by all accounts.

We don't have the Roller Plus, but I have the Classic Rollers front and back. My wife has the Paker Plus in back. I really don't like the Plus fabric. After 13 weeks of touring and a moderate amount of commuting to work, the color of her bags have really faded. They are almost pink on the top's surface. I'm not sure if it was the fabric or the color (she has red) It seems like UV affects them more than the Classic material. My panniers with the same exposure, are in good shape, other than the usual scuffs and scrapes.

Satisfied customer here: I have been using a pair of Front Rollers Plus for commuting for a year. The color is fine (mine are red), and has not faded for me (disclaimer: I am in a sun-disadvantaged Northern state). I prefer the look and feel of the Plus fabric. I just ordered a matching pair of Back Rollers Plus for summer travels.

FYI, Back Rollers Classic are on sale this week at REI for $119.
