Hello. My five year old has just shed his training wheels and is riding ok. His bike is a 12" and he's outgrown it, plus the bottom bracket is acting up.

I've been looking into BMX bikes. The style seems comfortable enough compared to what he's used to, plus it appears that one would last him over the next few years when he may either take up the sport or just go bombing around the neighborhood.

I've found a 16" Redline Grom X on sale and I'm considering this. He's too small for a 20". It appears this bike doesn't have coaster brakes. I guess I could buy a second hand wheel with coaster brake pretty cheap if necessary.

Do any of you BMXers have opinions on whether this bike would work for a young boy?
