Where did you buy the frame and fork? It's just like my Empella!

Where did you buy the frame and fork? It's just like my Empella!

Frame is a Kinesis extra lite, which is usually a frame that's bought by shops who run their own bike line (their own name on it and a nice paintsceme and ready). I bought it at www.cyberspeiche.de and at my special request it was annodized. It's quite different from an Empella: sloping top tube, no integrated headset and a brazed on cable guide for the rear brake.

The fork is an Advanced full carbon. This is the same as the one sold by Empella as the "carbonfire" only without decals and without shiny clear coat. Empella buys this fork from Advanced as well.

Tires are Jones 700 x 32c

Here's the frame before and after annodizing...

Great looking bike. I'm looking into the Mavic Open Pros too, probably in a 36 hole configuration with Ultegra. I'd like to run road/touring/and fat cyclo tires on the same rims. What's the size range for your wheels?

Size range? You mean which tires fit the rim? I've had no problems with the current 32c tires or the 23c road tires which I use for commuting, but I've never used bigger tires. But upto 37c should be no problem.

Those brakes look a lot like mafacs, but I'm guessing they cost considerably more.

Wow, those are serious mafac knockoffs. Do you still adjust toe-in with a BFWrench?

Timo

Yep. They're still a ***** to adjust :)

Timo,

Tire size was exactly what I was referring to. I want the option to go with touring tires and cx tires up to 37c and read somewhere that I might be limited with those wheels. I'm getting ready to have a set built on XT hubs. Thanks for clarifying.

Why dont we all posts pictures of our 'cross bikes. Similar to the pic threads in the road and mtb forums?
