I signed up for the 40-44 RR. Will probably do the TT too, but not sure about staying 3 extra days for the crit. Anyone else here planning on going?

Hey, I might race against pizza man. Not sure if I'm going though. It's a long way to go and the two races are too spread out.

This would be a good place for a lot of us to meet, race (get our arses kicked by g.) and have a few drinks and laughs. Plus pull out the list of excuses as to why we weren't as good as we should have been.

Yeah, not my first choice of a city to travel to, but that's where the races are.
This will probably be the first race I've ever done where I'm the youngest in the race, 39 and a half with a racing age of 40.

Meh...I've had a lot of fun in L-town. Most of it involved massive amounts of alcohol -> provided by one of the world's largest machine tool manufacturers....not naming names.... :innocent:
...I think there was even a drunk text message that night to chipcom.....

Dear USA Cycling Member,
Now that the 2009 competitive cycling season is in full swing, we know many of you are looking ahead to this year’s USA Cycling Masters Road National Championships. Returning to Louisville, Ky. June 28 - July 4, this year's edition will again provide a competitive racing environment for our Masters athletes and crown national champions in time trial, road race, criterium and tandem events.
With just two months remaining until the event, online registration is set to open at 12:00 a.m. EDT on Friday, May 1. To register, please visit www.sportsbaseonline.com (https://www.sportsbaseonline.com/) or click on the following link: www.sportsbaseonline.com/events/index.xhtml?categoryId=2820 (http://new.sportsbaseonline.com/events/index.xhtml?categoryId=2820).
Based on previous valuable feedback from our members, USA Cycling will again offer on-site registration and race-day packet pick-up, as well as a refund option in case your plans change. Also, please note that USA Cycling will also implement an escalating registration fee structure, so be sure to register early before the first increase in registration fees occurs on June 7!

Really....no one picked up on the drunk txt messages to Chipcom? You guys disappoint me.
Anyhooo....our team talked about it from teh standpoint that we have a ton of masters who are mostly 4/5 fodder, but we have some solid 1/2's. They were thinking of trying to swarm some races with some heavy numbers.
I would be destroyed in like 3 seconds....but might get a chance to drink with some of you guys...

And why is that?
you're self loathing is already insufferable enough when you race at your provincial races.

You need to quit being so observant.
But check with those who have met me at my provincial races - especially as of late. I'm nothing like that in person.

I'm nothing like I am on BF when you meet me in person. I'm actually a svelte young blond single woman...not the aging, fat and slow dude I make myself out to be on the internet.
I may go up for the road race. I'm not going to spend a week to do 2 races.

I've already got 2 teammates in the RR. :thumb:
We'll all stay for the TT too, but I can't stay 3 extra days for the crit. Anyway the crit course is too flat and doesn't have enough turns for me to do well.

Kentucky eh? Is the crit in a trailer park (as opposed to a business park)?

Ever been riding in kentucky before? Lots of paved vacant roads and lots of rolling hills.

I may volunteer for some of the races. I'll be the guy with a plug of tobacco between cheek and gum, drinking whiskey, sporting 18 teeth, and barefeet. BTW, some of Louisville does have indoor plumbing.
Seriously, Louisville is pretty nice, though I am sort of partial. The local bike club is quite active and has about 1000 members. The town is fairly cheap (cost of living) compared to most places around the US. Keep in mind it is sort of a central location (UPS agrees). I look forward to seeing ya'll this summer! Best

I'm considering the Master's 55+ RR and TT. Staying 5 days for all the races seems a bit long just to get my *** handed to me by a bunch of old guys. My wife seems to think the time between races will make a nice mini vacation.

Seriously thinking about it. It's close and the 45-49 race hardly has any fast guys in it.

You should go. We were planning on going but decided to focus on Masters Track Nationals in Indy. Taking 4 bikes and etc. seemed like a lot of overhead plus vacation time. And you will get your butt handed to you but who cares. Do it anyway and HTFU.

I'd actually like to drive out there. I have a sponsor that will provide a vehicle & gas, but definitely need someone to share the driving.
Anyone want to drive out to KY & back from CA?
Planning on leaving Friday June 26, arrive Monday, June 29. I race on June 30, July 1 & July 4.
Leave after the crits on the 4th and back in CA on Monday night July 6.
