Hello all,
I am fairly new to this site, having joined just last month. I started biking recently after a 12 year hiatus. I was in a car accident in 1998 and my right knee was damaged to the point of not being able to bend more than 60 degrees. So I did not think I could ride a bike. Last month I tried a friends mountain bike and to my pleasant surprise found out I still can.:thumb: So I have been riding once or twice a week since April 4th.
When I first started, I weighed in at 281.5 lbs, and today I weighed myself and I am already down to 269.5 lbs. Eleven pounds in just under a month. I hope to keep that up and eventually get down to 200 pounds. I am 6'0" and have not weighed 200 since I was in the service.
I have changed my diet slightly, and am sure that was also a contributing factor, but the fact that I have been actually getting some exercise now instead of spending all hours in front of the computer is the main reason for the loss.:)

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
